E-40
The Bay is back. And E-40 is showing errybody that he still has what it takes to get the club crunk with the release of his two latest singles, “Tell me when to go” and “U and Dat” on his album “My Ghetto Report Card.”
Born Earl Stevens, E-40 became a rap legend in the acclaimed Yay Area and has influenced people all over the world with his unique voice and rappin style. He owns the record label Sick Wid It Records. And is a major force in the up and coming west coast movement.
“Tell Me When To Go” is E-40’s most catchy song and features Keak Da Sneak. It is simply crunk and needless to say, Lil Jon was in on the making of the song. Keak Da Sneak has a ridiculously deep voice and E-40’s part of the song where he directs traffic is the coolest part of any song I have ever heard ever.
The single “Tell Me When to Go,” starts off with one of the crunkest lines EVER, “.Jesus Christ had dreads, so shake ‘em, i ain’t got none, but Im planning on growing some, Imagine all the Hebrews going dumb, Dancing on top of chariots and turning tight ones eeerrrrr.”
Another part of the song 40 drops the lines, “I don’t bump mainstream, I knock underground, All that other shit, sugar-coated and watered down, I’m from the Bay where we hyphy and go dumb, From the soil where them rappers be getting their lingo from.” Which are respectable lines and show how 40 thinks people are taking lingo from the bay area rap.
The Chorus goes, “Tell me when to go.Tell me when to go.Tell me when to go.Tell me when to go.Go dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb.” It is amazing when u are hearin it and not reading it watch the video up top.
E-40 directing traffic, “Ghost-ride the whip…. Now… Scrape … Put your stunna shades on …Now… Gas, brake, dip, dip …. Shake them dreads … Let me see you show your grill …Now… Thizz face … Doors open, mayn …. Now… Watch ‘em swang … Go stupid, go dumb.” Damn each phrase is repeated after E-40 drops it and it is off the chizzaine.
The single, “U and Dat,” features T-Pain and Kandi Girl. This song is taking overr.
T-Pain does the chorus which is, “Girl, I been shaking, sticking and moving tryin’ to get you and that booty, Tryin’ get to you and that booty, Tryin’ get to you and that booty, Girl, I been shaking and acting a donkey tryin’ to get you and that monkey, Tryin’ to get you and that monkey, Tryin’ to get you and that monkey.” The chorus sticks in your head all day.
E-40 shows his thug on the track and spits, “What you gonna do when I bend the block Bend the block, Pull up on that ass in a brand new drop, Brand new drop, Speakers on blast with tremendous knock ‘Mendous knock,TV’s in the dash, rims just won’t stop, You need to be down with a pimp like me, I aint turning down nothing but my collar, you see, I’m a leave you with my number, you should hollar at me, Cuz I’m a baller, can’t nobody hustle harder than me, oooh.”
E-40 is a pimp and the album, “My ghetto Report Card.” Is sunnin’ errybody should get.
