Cherish’s “Do It To It” is one of the hottest snap songs of the summer and the secret to its success was the verse by Sean Paul of the Youngbloodz. Any slowed down beat that a thug gets to flow over becomes an instant classic and that is exactly what Cherise was going for with their remix to “Do It To It.” Cherish was able to get four of the hottest rappers in the game to make guest spots on their remix to “Do It To It.” This is not your normal remix however, because it is without a doubt wayy better than the original. All the rappers featured on the song, Yung Joc, Jody Breeze, Chingy, and Fabo, all spit some of the hottest shit they have said in a min and they are all currently blowin up the rap scene. For more on Cherish click here
The first rapper to take a verse on the song is Yung Joc. Yung Joc currently has the whole rap game and the ATL in a headlock and rips this track apart with his sickk lyrics and flow. This kid is no joke get ready for the new movement in the south that is finnin’ to take over the game. Joc may be new but with this much support in the streets it is hard to stop anyone new or old.
Joc’s verse goes:
“Shorty whats up,
Welcome to my city,
Welcome to the club,
Got these niggas poppin’ willys,
Bout fifty niggas wit me,
Blowin on dat sticky,
Diamonds on my neck drapped drapped up and drippin’,
I, I tell em bend ur knees, bend ur knees, arch ya back, arch ya back,
When I say hike, throw it back,
Whats that, whats that,
Tha stick ya move, I like that,
U like that, Its just for you,
Its goin down, I know you see it,
Just look around, Everybody freakin’,
Its Cherish and Yung Joc,
Just do it do it do it, don’t stop.”
Yung Joc shouts out his new cd “Yung Joc city” in the track and manages to throw in the ever common phrase, “Diamonds on my neck.” He shouts out the names of his two mainstream singles, “Its Goin Down” and “I know You See It” in a way that seems like they were meant to be in the song.
The next up on the track is Jody Breeze. Jody Breeze came to fame with Young Jeezy in the group Boyz N Da Hood. Jody Breeze however has not received the amount of fame that Jeezy has been crowned with. He has however been featured in almost every remix that is getting done nowadays. Most recently on Penelope Jones’ track “Miss Me With That Foolishness.” Jody Breeze is workin on his solo album and is taking over the underground rap game step by step be on the look out for his rise to the top.
Jody Breeze’s verse goes:
“Im in the Club, feelin feelin good on that kryptonite,
In the cut, tryin to figure out who Im goin to hit tonight
Im fillin up my cup with hynnessey and kryptonite,
So if you aint tryin to cut, you and your friends can get all right,
Cause Im looking for a chick up out the hood, hood,
Like to smoke weed and aint scared to get to it to it,
So don’t play wit it, Let me see u do it do it,
Lean back bend ur knees, when you do it do it,
Cause every night its u in timberlands, reeboks, or new balance,
If its in the ATL, ur doin the pool palace,
So hit the floo and do a dance, on that o
If they acting bad, then put them hands on that hoe,
Jody Breeze kept his verse real street. He threw out that if you aint tryin to cut, then get outta his way. And nothing could be more hood than that. Also he repped the ATL with shoutin out the Pool Palace which is taking the clubs by storm.
Chingy has the third verse on this remix and uses it to display how grown he has gotten. Now that it is time to release his third solo mainstream album, “Hood Star,” Chingy has risen to the top of his game. He’s reppin the STL in full gear now and making the world understand that it is an STL thang right thurrr. Chingy is fresh off making the video “Pullin’ Me Back” with Tyrese. He also teamed up with Kyjuan from the St. Lunatics and Gena from East St. Louis to make the video for Gena’s single, “Dope Boy Fresh.”
Chingy’s verse goes:
“Pull up in the grey and black, pumpin my hand waving stacks,
I aint wurried about you cats, I got my traffic for these rats,
Bathing ape shoes, Red monkey Jeans,
Slot-A-Lot feets, rocking when I lean,
C-C-H-H-I-I-N-G-Y-Why?
Cause Im just so damn fly,
Oh my, u know the feeling baby,
Quit actin silly lady, Im looking for a quarter piece,
Something like chillin baby, now let it roll and stop it, stop it,
That thing I love to watch it,
Like my derrty huey girl pop lock and drop it,
She got a juicy catorse on, Im flowin,
If the STL on it,Then the whole world want it,
Whats happinin’”
On that track Chingy put him self on the level of Young Jeezy and Lil Wayne by stating that he is known to wear the bathing apes clothin. Bathing Apes being the hottest clothing line of all time. Chingy also did a smart and generous move by shouting out STL’s up and coming superstar BABY HUEY when he spit, “Like my Derrty Huey girl pop lock and drop it.” “Pop Lock and Drop it” is the name of Baby Huey’s new single and it is taking over the airwaves all over the country. Chingy truly kept it Saint Louis on this track.
Finally the man, the legend FABO came onto the track to add some laffy taffy flavor to this beat. If it aint one thang then it’s another and people seem to be giving Fabo shit for being the dopest person in the South. If you think FABO cant rap why don’t you try being the bitch you are somewhere else cause FABO is the new movement in rap.
Fabo spits:
“Girl smile, Snap your fringers, this your chance,
Bend your knees, Drop your hip,
Girl do it with no hands, Make it duh duh duh duh Ohhhh,
She go left and right, I wanna see u just get get tight,
To the beat, Pause wit me,
Bounce wit me, drop wit me,
Lean with me, Rock With me,
I believe I can fly, ATL mob wit me,
Girls shake your laffy taffy, D4L,
FABO Im happy, Kandi man, this is Kandi man,
She does things I cant describe, She give me her back get high,
Look like she just did a backa flip, Mr. Chico stick shy,
Let me see u smile, Ohhh, and
I pray everyday that you’ll be dancing in my life.”
FABO gives the song what only he can deliever: a rare crunk style that is tearing it up with the newer rap generation. Fabo and D4L have perfected Snap Music. I especially liked the role Fabo played on Da Muzicianz’s Album (http://www.yourgrillz.com/rapper-review-da-muzicianz-music-video-camera-phone/) and the part he played on Bo Hagon’s single “Whats Happinin” D4L has started something that will not easily be forgotten and Fabo made it known on this track.
The Chorus to the song remained the same:
“Bounce wit it drop wit it
Lean wit it rock wit it
Snap wit it
All my ladies pop yo backs wit it
Do it do it do it do it
You know the world be rockin’ to it to it
So do it do it do it to it
Bounce wit it drop wit it
Lean wit it rock wit it
Snap wit it
All my fellas tip yo hats with it
Do it do it do it do it
You know the world be rockin’ to it to it
So do it do it do it to it”
Keeping the chorus the same was a smart move on this track. Cherish is a great rap group coming outta the ATL and they aren’t goin nowhere. CALL up ur radio station and request this track so hopefully they will make a video for it. Cause that would be dope. Cherish is quickly becoming the hottest female group out thurr.
