About two years ago when Dem Franchize Boyz exploded on the scene with “White Tee,” They had Atlanta and the rap game in the palm of their hands. Everyone and their lil cousin was bumpin tha white tee song all day everyday. However, the buzz of a similar group, Crime Mob was interfering with Dem Franchize boyz’s popularity. The bands were too similar in sound, which made it hard to differentiate between them. It wasnt until I heard the smash hit “Oh I think dey like me” that I was sold on Dem Franchize boyz value to the rap game.
I never believed they would be majorly influencial, but their beats were catchy and the hype surrounding them was ridiculous. Once they hooked up with da brat and lil bow wow and jermaine dupri to do the remix to “Oh I think dey like me,” however, I realized what little potential they in fact had to create an amazing album in the future.
I put in their latest cd, On Top of Our Game, and instantly knew that Dem Franchise Boyz are just that “on top of their game.” Their songs are catchy and are setting trends in the rap world. Also even though they are becoming what I would call a party rap group, because their cd is full of songs to play at your next party, I like how they are exploring new topics and rappin on shit others haven’t.
“Lean Wit it, Rock Wit It” is one of my favorite songs to do my snap to. Tha snap dance has taken over the world and Dem Franchise Boyz can take credit in helping to start that craze. The dance they helped create is the shit.
I was blown away at the instant success of the single “Ridin’ Rims” which is an ode to cars with huge rims 22’s on up. The song is off the chain with the opening lyrics, “I got mo grams than teddy, got a cam in my chevy, my car go and when I ride, I’m ready look like I’m glidin on nothi’, when I ride I be skatin, I pull up swervin on niggas they don’t be tryin they be hatin they only ridin’ on 20’s, they might as well rid on hubs, if it ain’t deuces or better, ya might as well put em up, cuz where I’m from we mount up and ride on them big rims, a whole supply of deuces that spin harder than windmills, i been real, always too clean cuz I Pack heat, or white leather guts plush, bitch scream in da back seat.” This song is takin over the streets.
The Chorus is just as catchy, “If ya ridin’ rims, ya gotta ride flats UH HA, Im
sittin ridin on lebron back UH HA, these 23’s UH HA if yean know UH HA, I got da top workin up on 24’s.”
If you aint seen the video for “Ridin Rims” yet u needs to get on dat.
Here is yourgrillz’ old review on Dem Franchize Boyz!!–
I never believed they would be majorly influencial, but their beats were catchy and the hype surrounding them was ridiculous. Once they hooked up with da brat and lil bow wow and jermaine dupri to do the remix to “Oh I think dey like me,” however, I realized what little potential they in fact had to create an amazing album in the future.
I put in their latest cd, On Top of Our Game, and after I stopped throwing up I decided a tragedy such as this needed to be written bout. Their songs are complete rips off of their first cd’s hits. Also Their choice of rappers to collaborate with couldn’t be worse. In today’s rap game Jermaine Dupri is thought of as a boy band fanatic who used to make hits with Master P and Jay Z but now spends his time turning could be stars into every 12 year old girls dream. After about a year these 12 year old girls forget who these groups are and it is too late for them to salvage any of their lost street cred.
Not only was Jermaine Dupri on the track, but Bow Wow, who even though he is making an impressive return, still is a childhood star. The only cds Bow Wow sells are to 12 year old girls who have been all over his tip since he was a baby. Finally they had da bratt on there for god knows why. I dont even have to comment on why collaborating with that baggy pants wearin freak is a bad idea.
The dance they helped create is the shit. The songs they constantly remake are gettin old. If Dem Franchize Boyz were to hook up with some real artists and producers and create a dope track the world could be a much better place. Untill then I suggest that errytime you hear someone talk about how Dem Franchize Boyz have the game on lock you explain to them that dem franchize boyz is a bunch of main stream hoes.
Because they can pull themselves out of the slump and maybe regain their past greatness yourgrillz gives them Franchize boys 5 grillz outta 10
