Ice Cube, born O’Shea Jackson, began his career with the group that started it all, N.W.A. He was arguably the best member lyrically after Eazy-E, and after he became the first to depart from N.W.A. his career did not end but rather started to fully develop. He has seen it all and lived through some tough times “Comin’ Straight Outta Compton.” Ice Cube deserves all of your respect and recently through his collaborations with stars such as Lil Jon, Ice Cube has proven that he still has what it takes to give the rap game direction and produce what the game is missing.

His acting career is amazing as well. “Are we there yet?” was funny as all hell and barber shop 1 and 2 are instant classics. His best movies by far are Friday, next Friday, Friday after next, and boyz in da hood. IS there anything Ice Cube cant do? Yes. He can not be bad at anything that is what he can not do.

“Laugh Now, Cry Later,” is his latest work, and it is shaping up to be a major contender for best album of the year. It has already created a huge buzz in the skreets. With the single, “Chrome and Paint.” “Chrome and Paint” is one of the best videos I have seen in a long time and features the legend WC.

“Chrome and Paint” which u can see at the top of the page, features the lines, “I am the wrong nigga, to fuckin’ grown nigga, to go for that nigga, I aint ya hoe nigga, I got a head trigga, I am the dome splitta. The dc snippa, u got the wrong niggas, retired like jigga, here comes the Attila the hun, Killin niggas for fun, these rappas is done, the bigga they come the harder they fall, I burn like the sun, continue to ball.” I could quote the whole song but reading it aint the same u need to get this song the name is CHROME AND PAINT get it and listen to it NOW.
This video, which features Lil Eazy-E, makes me feel that Ice Cube is the greatest person alive. If u aint seen it SEE IT.

The other single off the album “Laugh Now, Cry Later,” is “Why We Thugs” (Video is up top) which features the comic sensation Mike Ebbs, Ice Cube’s iced out GRILL, and the Grill making legend Johnny. This song is madd catchy. With the chorus, “They give us guns and drugs, Then wonder why in the fuck we thugs, They wanna count the slugs, Then come around here and fuck with us, They give us guns and drugs, Then wonder why in the fuck we thugs, They wanna count the slugs, Then come around here and fuck with us.” The Chorus is doubled by Ice Cube’s chorus he spits, “Every Hoods the Same.”

It is good to see Ice Cube reppin’ his new and grown hood. Its been years since he exploded but the story is the same. “Why We Thugs” features the lines, “I’m from the land of the gang bang, Since I was little, ain’t a god damn thang changed, It’s the same ol same, Bush run shit like Sadaam Hussien… got caught by five-oh, Grandmama came to court with her bible, But when the judge hit the gavel, Now I’m too far from my family to travel, I just came unraveled, Socked the D.A. before I got gaffled, Owned by C.A, State Property, Just like the year fifteen fifty three.”

All I have to say is that Ice Cube is above Rap. He is above it all. He is like spittin straight truth. And errybody should buy his shit and be grateful that he is still around to spit game cause the game has lost too many greats, Eazy-E, Tupac, Biggie. Ice Cube is one of the few we have left.
