Jibbs is the newest rap superstar to explode outta the hip hop hotbed that is Saint Louis with his debut ablum entitled Jibbs feat. Jibbs that is going to hit the stores in September 2006. If there was ever a city that had more underground talent than it knew what to do with Saint Louis is that city, with artists such as Jibbs, Mr. Pop Lock and Drop It himself , Baby Huey , East St. Louis’ own Gena and Raw Resse , the ghetto queen Penelope Jones , Spaide Rippa, Young Beno, P Dubs, Da Banggaz, Potzee , Ebony Eyez, Taylor Made, Da Camp (which is Murphy lee’s little brother’s group), and the freik mobb ( a group being promoted hardcore by the X-Beat DJ Kaos.) Basically if one of these acts didn’t explode onto MTV or BET like Jibbs did with his single “Chain Hang Low” one would have to wonder if talent was what got someone onto BET or if it was who you knew.

Whether it is talent or who you know or both that allows you to make it in the rap game one thing is for sure and that is that Jibbs had everything he needed from an early age. Since he was a kid he wanted to rap, having an older brother, DJ Beats, who is part of Da Beatstaz who helped to produce tracks for St. Louis stars such as Nelly and Chingy , Jibbs grew up around rap and knew it would be his calling.

Jibbs entered the game like most people do by gainin local fame through freestyle skills, but one thing he had that others didn’t was stamina which is shown in his incredible boxing ability. Jibbs was a great boxer before he was a great Rapper and some of his boxing skills show in his lyrics as well as in his videos.

In Saint Louis Jibbs came up doing shows with stars like Young Jeezy, and if anyone has sway in the rap game it is Young Jeezy. Just being in the same room with the snowman is an honor and I am sure Jeezy noticed Jibbs talent. Jibbs’ talent is not that of your average Saint Louis artist. He is more diverse and even made a song with Fabo from D4L called “Smile” which is a snap song that will be more popular than his already popular single “Chain Hang Low.” Which was played like crazy on Saint Louis’ Midwest Wednesday’s where the local radio station 100.3 the beat plays local artists, and is now being played on BET like it aint no thing.
