Avant, real name Myron Avant, is an R&B man who is helping to blow up Cleveland, Ohio and make it a soon to be hot spot for up and coming rap and R&B artists. He has worked with Snoop Dog, Lloyd Banks, and Kelly Rowland in the past and proves to be no joke. If you listen to Avant’s flow you will be able to tell that this is one R&B singer that will be in the game for years to come.

Avant’s newest album is entitled, “Director,” and its hit single “4 Minutes” is blowin up the R&B spot. This song is a typical rhyme about a relationship that Avant is trying to save. However the song is catchy and the video is off the chain.

In “4 Minutes,” Avant spits the lines, “Pardon me if I’m talking fast and stumbling all over my words, I heard you were leavin’ town I thought I’d be the one to know first, If you have a minute let me talk to you and see what’s going on, Don’t say it’s nothing when it’s gotta be something that’s gone wrong, Now let me explain but I don’t know what to say cause I don’t know what the hell happened, I come in the house to try to work it out, and all you’re doing is packing, Close your suitcase let me think straight, Damn what could be the reason? Baby talk me I’m almost outta time.”

That is the entire first verse of the song and it pretty much sums it up that he is pressed for time but needs to know what the hell happened. I think we have all been in that situation when ur woman is actin a fool and no one knows why.

The Chorus on the track is catchy as all hell, “I only got 4 minutes to do what I gotta do to prove to you that I’m gonna do anything, Only got 4 minutes say what I gotta say to make you stay and show you that I done change, Cause in 4 minutes I’ll never have my girl again, In 4 minutes Imma lose her to some other man, 4 no less no more, I’m desperate ’cause the clock’s ticking, Only got 4 minutes to go.” Even though it is repetitive and makes the name of the song easy to find out it gets the point across.

Avant’s video for “4 Minutes” presents the chaotic theme of the single and shows the pain Avant is experiencing tryin to fix his relationship. The theme of the video is that after “4 Minutes” he may never have his girl again. It is a pretty sweet video. The song is a catchy R. Kelly type song. Avant even looks like R. Kelly at times in the video.

I am personally eager to see how the track, “Grown Ass Man” does on the album “Director,” because that title is skraight Gangsta.
