Dre, also known as Andre Lyon, is one half of the major producing duo from Miami that is takin over the charts with their producing skills and Dre’s rapping talent. Dre and his co-producer Cool, also known as Marcello Valenzano, have produced tons of hits such as “Hate It Or Love It” by the Game and Fifty Cent, the song “Rodeo” by Juvenile, they produced tracks on Chamillionaire’s “The Sound of Revenge” CD, almost the entire Chistina Milian album “So Amazin’,” and they are currently working with Lil Eazy E for tracks that will appear on his up and coming album, “Prince of Compton.” Lil Eazy E is the son of Rap Grandfather Eazy E who is credited with starting gangsta rap and making Dr. Dre what he is today.
Dre also raps and Cool and Dre are producing his up and coming album which features the hit single “Chevy Ridin’ High.” “Chevy Ridin’ High,” features Rick Ross on the track and with Rick Ross’s lyrical talents and Cool and Dre’s producing skills this single is a hit that will without a doubt be one of the most catchy songs of the summer.
Rick Ross starts off the track in a major way and leaves some lines that give the song major weight, “Im a Real Thug, so my rims scrub, no black and milds, the blunt filled up.” “Known as the boss, I swerve two lanes, BITCH Im Ricky Ross. Me and Dre do Things.” “Crystal rosay, Yea I po’ dat. We connected with Khaled, we backed doo’ dat.” Rick Ross’s Lines in “Chevy Ridin’ High” are similar to what we heard him spit in his “Hustlin” single, but they are still hard as hell and let the streets know that he aint no joke. His flow is ridiculous and Erry song he touches is great.
Dre spits, “I aint playin fool, this aint x-box, but I can take ya to the morgue and u pick out the best box.” “Epidemic is a army, Triple C is a navy, We combine and we take over the stations.” He is being hard and that is respectable especially since he has to prove he has what it takes to sell cds as a solo artist. Epidemic is his label and Triple C is Rick Ross’s rap group. The Epidemic is a army, Triple C is a navy line is a smart play off of a hot boys lyric. Overall Dre’s rappin isn’t bad but can improve.
The chorus, “Chevy ridin’ high boy, Chevy ridin’ high boy, bumpin’ gangsta music.” Is catchy as all hell especially since they screwed the bumpin’ gangsta music part. Yourgrillz.com gives the single “Chevy Ridin’ high” by Dre 8 grillz outta 10.
