DTP has not left the game. They are showing that they have more to offer than just Ludacris’s greatness with the recent success of Shawna and now the blowin up single, “So What.”
“So What” is Field Mob’s single off their up and coming album, “Light Poles and Pine Trees” which will be released to stores on June 20th. Field Mob is ready to show their growth as artists on this album. “So What” is the single that Field Mob is dropping and using the recent success of their track “Georgia” that they collaborated with DTP’s leader Ludacris on and took over the nation with.
This single is not the typical song that you would expect a ghetto duo to produce, but Field Mob got their mind right and come up with something that the general public wont be able to get enough of. Field Mob was able to get Jazzy Pha to produce this track and their lines on the track are simply hilarious, “They say I done this, They said I done that, But all of it’s fiction none of it’s facts, But you don’t be hearing that about your love, You let it go in one ear and out the other, The he say, she say, they say, I heard, The beef ain’t, we can’t let it get on our nerves.” HAHA if that doesn’t make you collapse from their lyrical skillz u have problems.
Ciara brings a more serious note to the song with her lines, “You’ve always been there for me, I like the thug in you, No matter what people think, I’m gon’ be here for you, And I don’t care what they say.” I like the way Ciara handled this joint.
The chorus is done by Ciara and gives this song its catchy flow by having her speed up her rhymes and slow down the melody of “so what.” The refrain is, “They say he do a little of this, He do a little of that, He’s always in trouble, and I heard, He ain’t nothing but a pimp, He got a lot of chicks, He’s always in the club, And they say he think he’s slick, He sellin’ lot of chips, He’s so messed up, I heard, He’s been locked up Find Somebody else, He ain’t nothing but a thug, So what, So what, So what, So what.” The refrain alone makes this song stand out as a summer anthem.
This video is a tight short clip movie that displays a relationship and its problems. The video also does a great job showing how hott Ciara is. If you doubted her hotness u needs to check this video and on top of that her voice is the shit so im tired of errybody and they momma hating on her and sayin shes a man cause she obviously isn’t. And that’s just real.
Even though “So What” is the single tearin up the charts right now, Be on the look out for “My Wheels” which is without a doubt the best song off the album “Light Poles and Pine Trees.” Featuring the lyrics, “fresher than poporey…and I didn’t need xzibet to pimp my ride…The Chevy Caprece’s windows darker than my complection is…I wax on and wax off Im like im Danielson, my roof missing on my car, its topless like a titi bar…Im addicted to choppin…cause see I love chevys the way they like a rock. I helped Kanye West saying Jesus walks but if he see what I ride he have reason to drive. Stevie wonder flow, cant see me but u feelin it…my speakers hit like sammy sosa…Ill be blowin dro on twenty fo’s that’s how all my bill boys roll.(in the tone of T.I.’s 24’s)” This song is so amazing I can not wait until the video comes out. If you need to here it right now hit up Field Mob’s myspace.com page (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=23402490).
The album “Light Poles and Pine Trees” should sell plenty due to the success of “So What” and the album’s other single, “my wheels.” Yourgrillz.com gives Field Mob’s soon to be released album “Light Poles and Pine Trees” 9 grillz outta 10.
