Comin out the lone star state, Kirk Franklin is doing it real bigg. He aint syppin on dat purple drank, sittin sideways, and tippin on 84’s though like his fellow Texans. Kirk Franklin is representin a new sound of gospel meets Hip Hop.

Kirk Franklin has been around in the game for a while laying low on the hip hop radar and mostly focusin on his gospel career until recently when his single “Looking for you” took over airwaves all over the country. This track is a soulfull song about finding Jesus in one’s life. Anyone who says that Kirk Franklin aint speakin the truth or keepin it real has something to discuss with God. Cause this man is reppin the G.O.D. to the fullest.

“Looking for You” is the hit single off Kirk Franklin’s “Hero” album released in October. He wasn’t completely outta the rap game before this release though. He did do collab’s with R. Kelly and Mary J Blige.

“Let it Go” which Kirk Franklin revisits the hardest parts of his life sampling the “Shout” song by Tears for Fears for the hook. He spits lines like, “my momma gave me up when I was 4 years old, she didn’t destroy my body but she killed my soul.” “I was raised falling in the church, Made mistakes and heard the Lord’s calling in the church.” “After service in the parking lot getting high, Wanted to be accepted so bad I was willing to die.”

“Better” is a uplifting single that features the hook “Life will get better, it’s gonna get better, No matter the weapon, it will not prosper, Things will get better, it’s gonna be better.” This song is a must for anyone sick of all the cursing in hip hop but still into catchy beats and hooks.

“Looking For You” could be the most catchy song of the year. With a crunked out feel good Sunday gospel feel. I cant describe how this song will make u get up and praise Jesus by dancing where ever you are. Its catchy hook goes:
