University City, the part of Saint Louis that is known for having launched Nelly and the Saint Lunatic’s carreers has done it once again with Saint Louis’ own Potzee. Already proving that he can draw a large following in Saint Louis as well as having the city’s streets on lock yourgrillz.com is interested in what the future holds for Potzee now that he is with asylum records.
His major singles have been Saint Louis anthems for a while, being played on the local rap stations as various Saint Louis DJ’s intro mixes. The love from the streets coupled with the major support of his childhood friends the Saint Lunatics, provide Potzee with a promising future.
His singles can be heard on his website www.potzee.com include:
“Dat Girl” which is a club banger that stresses Saint Louis slang “hurrr” “thurr” which was made popular by Nelly and furthered by Chingy and J Kwon. “Born and raised in U City…Im world wide now show em how the lou dress down.” Potzee is all about the STL’s flavor with this track.
“I’m A King” is basically Potzee layin down why he is the future of the game and why st. louis is about to explode onto the scene with new talent over a T.I. beat. The intro has Potzee saying,“This the best thing asylem could have did with they money and they time is sign me.” He continues to promote his realness when he spits,“Stand on erryword I speak, aint into biting my tounge, Unless it make it bleed money, Im tryin to feed my son. Only fuck with whats real…”
Potzee finishes the rap by summin up his greatness,“Im the next most mentioned master mind out missoui. Metropolitan menance causein malfunction in the matrix consistent on local stations not goin for the gusto the best thing asylum coulda signed.”
On the single “Whole Lotta” Potzee collaborated with STL legend P-Dub. This song is a throwback track to relax with your baby girl to. Potzee keeps it thug though when he spits:
“The type I can call after the club and aint tryin to touch
lay ya up and watch some bootlegs message my neck for me.
Feisty just like I like them
Sassy and citified
booty and thighs give me a rise
girl im hypnotized.”
Finally Potzee’s best song is the track “Good Evening.” This is a Murphy Lee Collabo which took over Saint Louis airwaves last year. The song is a layed back crunk melody about keeping it real and celebratin the rap game. In the track Potzee is celebratin his new found success and spits, “no more askin for loans that I know I cant pay back.” Also Murphy lee drops some memorable lines when he says,“ Murphy Lenzel Washington. Come hurr baby girl take a sniff of my dreads I just washed them. I feel happy for some reason. 87 monty had these haters so dumb heated. Pull up with two wheels in the air with that one leanin’. Errything Im gettin’s what I want im done needin.”
Overall Potzee has come prepared and is equipped with enough help from Saint Louis and the Saint Lunatics to become a major force in the rap game. His laid back flow and catchy beats will make him a household name in no time. Yourgrillz gives Potzee 8 grillz outta 10
