Ray Cash is one of the few, the proud, Ohio rappers. This twenty five year old, east Cleveland reppa is no joke however. He knows what the street life is like and his laid back flow works wonders on his album, “C.O.D.” which stands for Cash on Demand and will be available on June 27th.
The first time I heard Ray Cash’s music was when I saw his video for “Sex Appeal,” Which features the chorus, “Im a pimp, In my own mind.” I thought that this goofy lookin mofo singin about being a pimp in his head was a joke and would never make it. However, he has cleaned up his act and released the hit single, “bumpin my music,” which features the rap legend Scarface.
“Bumpin my music” is takin over airwaves all over the nation and the video is so sweet I would be surprised if it didn’t take over the number one spot on BET’s 106 & Park. The song is about the different rappers that have had an influence on Ray Cash’s life, and Scarface raps about the different rappers that have influenced his life and flow. These two rappers work wonderfully together and put rap history to a crazy beat and leave the listening reminiscing about great moments in rap history.
Ray Cash raps about his music selection in the song, “I’m a ho, Playaz Club, Ice Cube, Master P, And since I’m movin’ my yay, know I got UGK.” “kids dancin in the yard, While I’m stuntin’ like Evel Knievel man, Bumpin’ Cutlass, Monte Carlos and Rivas man, Rollin’ in slow mo, like the whole block screwed, Like bill 79, bumpin’ Devin the Dude.” Ray Cash uses his time on the track to creatively link great rap moments together and rep his city. His lyrical talents make errybody happy who listen to this track.
Scarface explodes on the track with his reference to NWA, “It was like fuck tha police comin’ straight from the underground, A young nigga blowin’ big comin’ down, A nigga with the attitude eazy, ren, dre and cube, creepin’ up the avenue, that how you had to do, yes I’m the rhythm, the rebel without a cause, never lowerin my level, I’m on some Chuck D shit.” “I get down like I’m BDP.” Scarface’s references to some of the greatest names in rap give this song an incredible amount of weight in the face of all the meaningless singles that are being produced today. With his shout outs to NWA, Public Enemy, and Boogie Down Productions, Scarface makes this track something that all people should hearr.
Yourgrillz.com give this Ohio reppa 8 grillz outta 10 for his single “Bumpin my Music.
